DECOLITE 4-Pc Drum Set Vtg 40s Nickel Barry Kent Walberg 12-15-22-14" Green Duco

Description

Decolite is my custom drum brand using vintage hardware from the traps and swing eras. I aim to make fully giggable drums using the best parts of vintage drum engineering. Each kit is one of a kind.
This one is a four-piece, 8x12/14x15/14x22/6.5x14. Floor tom is a Keller 6-ply cylinder shell, rack tom shell is a 50s 2-ply Kent, bass drum is a 50s 3-ply Gretsch. Snare is a late 50s Rogers marcher, cut down with the original edge and snare bed on one side and  a solid maple rering installed on top.
On the toms and bass drum, the vintage nickel hardware is a variety of Barry tube lugs with Kent and Duplex parts, and 10-24 thumb rods and claws which are probably made by Walberg & Auge or Leedy. Tom legs are stainless steel, and the kit comes with three Duplex leg brackets and a pair of Leedy hoop clamp spurs as shown.
The snare has 30s Ludwig & Ludwig tube lugs and tension rods, Gretsch cast stick chopper rims, a 30s L&S strainer (which does work but requires pulling on the main body rather than the lever arm to throw off the wires), Rogers butt plate and a custom wire brush internal strainer/muffler assembly. This drum is capable of a huge variety of tones and characters, as it basically has two throwoffs that work in unique ways.
Green and gold two-tone fade finish with paint and lacquer. Bearing edges on toms are outer roundovers in a late 50s/60s Gretsch style. The bass drum has its original 30-degree edges, which are not flawless but were good enough to keep. Snare has 45-degree edges, the resonant side edge is original.
